This is my digital braitenberg vehicle simulator, designed for Jeff Horn's MA240 class at Northern Michigan University. NMU probably owns copyright to this. Anyway, click the button to run the applet. It should be compatible with Java version 1.5.0 and higher. Most of the features have tooltips describing what they do, with a few exceptions:
- Lights can be added to the simulation field by left-clicking on the field where you want the light to be added.
- Right-clicking on the simulation field will remove the last light that was placed.
- Sensors can be either bounded or unbounded. Bounded sensors best simulate infrared or sonar sensors, which have a limited range, beyond which they will sense nothing. Unbounded sensors best simulate photocells, and measure the total light received. If the received light is above the threshold value, the sensor returns true. Otherwise, the sensor returns false.
- The middle slider, labeled "Threshold", adjusts both the range of bounded sensors and the activation threshold of unbounded sensors.
